Low-code development platforms provide development environments that allow businesses to develop software quickly with minimal coding, minimizing the need for extensive coding experience. The platforms provide base-level code, scripts, and integrations so companies can prototype, build, or scale applications without developing complex infrastructures. Both developers and non-developers can use these tools to practice rapid application development with customized workflows and functionality.
Low-code development is a growing area and acording to Forrester the total market for these low-code development platforms will grow to $15.5 billion by 2020.
The goal of this Summer School is to provide training on different aspects of low-code software development, using the Outsystems low-code software development platform, as well as to foster research topics around the low-code software development paradigm. These topics include model-driven development, cloud-based software as a service, programming language engineering, software quality and software security.
Prof. Carlos Serrão / Prof. Fernando Brito e Abreu
This Summer School is aimed for: Computer science students that want to learn more about low-code software development platforms; IT professionals that wish to learn about low-code software development platforms; Researchers and research students that aim to learn and discuss about research topics on low-code software development.
