About

This course is focused on the concept of national economy's innovativeness, its measurement methods and diversity of innovation systems in the world economy. The course will also provide a broad view of issues related to technological development in different sectors and innovativeness at the regional level. Classes will include numerous discussions about determinants and the role of innovation in building international competitive advantage of a firm.

Major learning outcomes for students:
- understanding of the concept of national innovation system (NIS),
- knowledge about firms' innovation strategies and understands innovation processes,
- ability to identify determinants innovation, innovation types and their interrelations as well as and role of innovations in creating competitive advantage of contemporary companies.

Course aim

Familiarizing the students with the concept of an national economy's innovativeness, its measurement methods and diversity of innovation systems in the world economy. Shaping student's ability to evaluate the national innovation systems and making conclusions on directions and instruments of nation's innovation policy. Providing a broad view of issues related to technological development in different sectors and to innovativeness at the regional level and also startups.

Fee

450 EUR, 430 Euro fee for one course, inauguration and graduation, access to SGH’s library and university’s computers with internet, „welcome package”. Fee for the second course is 260 Euro.

270 EUR, This fee is optional and includes accommodation in students’ dormitory, double or triple rooms, 10 breakfast before classes (at about 8 a.m.) and 10 lunches (at about 12.30 p.m.) from Monday to Friday each week. Detailed information at official website.
