Navigating Geostrategic Dynamics in the Indo-Pacific: Focus on Taiwan

About

Palacký University Olomouc (in particular the team members of the EUVIP project – “The EU in the Volatile Indo-Pacific Region”) invites you to participate in the upcoming summer school.

Join our summer school program to explore the evolving geopolitical and geo-economic landscape of the Indo-Pacific region, with a particular focus on Taiwan.

This program offers an in-depth understanding of the strategic significance of Taiwan in the broader regional dynamics, highlighting its role in international relations, security, and economic development. Taiwan’s geopolitical position at the crossroads of East Asia places it at the center of Sino–US rivalry, influencing regional security and the quest for a rules-based order. As a technological and innovation hub, Taiwan plays a crucial role in economic growth and stability within the Indo-Pacific.

Additionally, the program grants you the opportunity to explore the recent developments in Taiwan by highlighting the various approaches taken by regional stakeholders in addressing the ongoing crisis and exploring various aspects of Taiwan itself, from its history to cultural issues and its role in international relations.

Why Join?

Engage with leading experts, participate in thought-provoking discussions, and expand your analytical capabilities in one of the most dynamic and strategically important regions of the world.

You will also have the chance to deepen your understanding of academic practices through an introduction to open-access research, op-ed paper writing, and AI tools in research.

The summer school will also feature a movie screening and a city tour.
