About

The aim of the course is to introduce students to comparative health systems analysis (frameworks and methods) using the Nordic countries as case examples. Key topics include the interaction between values, organization and political steering of the health systems. It will be discussed how the Nordic systems address general challenges of cost control, performance management, prevention and coordination and integration of health services. The Nordic health systems will be contrasted with other types of health systems based on social or private health insurance.

8000 DKK, EU/EEA citizens Exchange students from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences', UCPH, partner universities can participate in this course free of charge, if they have been nominated by their home university. The course must be an integrated part of their study programme. The course is a blended learning course that consists of E-learning, lectures/group work and field trips. The E-learning component is taking place during the spring of 2018 with self-study and mini assignments to be handed in online. The on-site component consists of a two week program in Copenhagen with lectures, group work, presentations by external experts from the Nordic countries, and field trips to health policy organizations in Denmark and Sweden.
