Target group

The academic program is suitable for Bachelor, Master or PhD students from a variety of backgrounds, e.g. Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biotechnology, Geography, Geosciences, Renewable Energy Engineering or related disciplines dealing wirth interdisciplinary international approaches.

Course aim

Professors and teachers from the Faculty of Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Geography and Geosciences will give you a scientific background on the highly scientific and social relevance of nuclear fission and its impacts, which continue to the present day. You will have the unique chance to discuss the controversies surrounding the scientific achievement of nuclear fission, the (in)responsible handling of it, the worldwide effects of such high-risk technologies and possible future perspectives of use with experts, international peers and students from Germany in an interdisciplinary setting. You will gain hands-on experience during field excusions, discover Mainz and its surroundings during cultural visits, improve your language skills and get to know students from all over the world.
