Operational Research stream

This year, participants of the Operational Research (OR) stream will learn how different types of models (both hard and soft techniques) are used to improve decision-making in the face of uncertainty in real problems of business, government, and society. The OR program is interdisciplinary, teaching methods and techniques that are often applicable to a wide variety of scientific fields. Supply chain management, humanitarian and commercial logistics, financial markets modeling, and soft OR methods and approaches will be presented.

Course aim

Annual Operational Research (OR) stream of the Summer School AACIMP aims to provide overview on state-of-the-art OR. Hereinafter we refer to OR as field that studies advanced analytic techniques as a means to improve decision-making. Operational Research claims to be interdisciplinary, considering a vast variety of scientific areas where its methods and techniques are often applicable. Participants of the stream will learn how Operational Research specialists use different types of models (both hard and soft OR techniques) to improve decision making in the face of uncertainty in real problems of business, governments or society.
