About the Course
This course combines a general module, which all The Hague Summer School participants will attend, with an elective module focusing on Peace, Justice, Human Rights, and EU Cooperation. The course is worth 4 ECTS, divided into 1 ECTS for the general module and 3 ECTS for the elective.

Target group

Any student with an interest in Peace, Justice, Human Rights and the vital role European Union cooperation plays.

We expect no prior knowledge for this module, but do require that you have a good command of English (at least CEFR level B2; no official certificate needed). Furthermore, you must have completed at least the first year of a bachelor's course, which you can prove by providing an overview of enrolment or a bachelor's diploma.

Course aim

General Module

In this two-week module, students will work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams to address a global challenge. They will examine the issue from personal, cultural, local, and disciplinary perspectives.

Elective Module

This module focuses on the themes of Peace, Justice, and Human Rights, reflecting The Hague’s status as the Legal Capital of the World. A particular emphasis is placed on the role of European Union (EU) cooperation in promoting peace and stability across Europe. The module includes expert-led lectures and excursions to key institutions related to these topics.
