Production Technology Meets Industry 4.0

Explore fundamental areas of Industry 4.0 and acquire a better understanding of current and future requirements in production technology. The German government promotes the integration of industrial production with information and communication technologies. Therefore, you learn about Internet of Things and Internet of Production, discuss the role of robotics in automation and consider aspects of human-machine interaction.

By considering different aspects of artificial intelligence, you understand the complexity of data mining and data visualization, develop innovative ideas with lean principles and analyze the concept of smart factory.

Course leader

The lectures and exercises of the Summer School are conducted by the Cluster of Excellence "Internet of Production” and numerous institutes of RWTH Aachen University. This program has also been developed together with our long-standing partner Henkel.

Target group

Every year we welcome students from all over the world. You can become part of our international student community if you:

- are at least 18 years old
- in your Bachelor's, Master's, in between or recently graduated
- are proficient in the English language

No previous knowledge is needed for this course. The content is taught starting from the basics.

No English certificate is required. Our courses are all in English and therefore a proficient knowledge of English is important.

Course aim

This Summer School is headed by the Cluster of Excellence “Internet of Production“. Currently important research topics are discussed from 15 different viewpoints.
