This course is offered as part of the Radboud Summer School in Social Research Methods, in collaboration with MethodsNET (a global network that offers excellent training in social research methods).

Qualitative Expert Interviews provide in-depth understanding, core skills and hands-on experience essential for advanced interviewing of experts as key agents of knowledge generation in political and social research.

This PhD level course is open to all researchers aiming at bringing their research to the next level. It is particularly designed for those who are new to expert interview research and those who have conducted interviews before and would like to further develop their knowledge and skills by critically reflecting on and learning from their experience.

Course aim

After this course you are able to:

-Demonstrate advanced critical knowledge and understanding of qualitative expert interviews.
-Apply advanced skills in expert interview design, field preparation strategies, conducting interviews, interviewing techniques and data generation practice.
-Manage interview data at an advanced level and identify appropriate analytical approaches.
-Critically reflect on ethical and legal issues and requirements involved in expert interview research.
