Research and critical perspectives on children`s health literacy

About

The 3rd International Health Literacy Summer School organised by the German Health Literacy in Childhood and Adolescence (HLCA) Consortium focusses on health literacy research, including critical perspectives from childhood studies.
Aiming at interactive working, it will provide both a general and a specific overview on theoretical and practical evidence
regarding health literacy.
Participants will be introduced into:
• conceptual and methodological considerations,
• the use of measurement methods and data analysis,
• methods and ethics of childhood research,
• intervention studies,
• health literacy policy-making and social issues,
• gender studies,
• advocacy for health literacy and health literacy champions,
including skill development.

Course leader

The German Health Literacy in Childhood and Adolescence Consortium proudly organises this summer school with support from leading experts in the field, including Dr. Kristine Sørensen, Vanessa Rawlings, Emma Bond, Katie Tyrell, Luis Saboga-Nunes

Target group

The Summer School invites students and researchers from e.g. public health, health communication, education, sociology, psychology, etc., as well as PhD candidates working on related research questions.
