About

The course will delve into the key aspects of programming and safety strategies essential for the development and deployment of robots in space exploration. Participants will learn about the specific challenges and considerations when designing robotic systems that operate in the extreme and unpredictable environments of outer space. Emphasis will be placed on technologies used to program autonomous robots capable of performing complex tasks in space, such as navigation, manipulation, and data collection.

Topics like fault tolerance, risk management, and real-time decision-making will be addressed to equip participants with a deep understanding of how safety is integrated into space robotics.

Furthermore, real-world use cases of robots in space will be examined, illustrating how these robots are deployed not only for exploration missions, but also for maintenance tasks in orbit, like servicing satellites or conducting repairs on space stations. By the end of the module, students will have a comprehensive understanding of both the technical and operational challenges of using robots for space applications, as well as insights into future trends in the field.
