Russian via Movies and Music

About

The course will help you to improve your Russian skills and to get familiar with famous Russian and Soviet movies, cartoons, songs, musicians and singers.

During the classes, we will watch movies and listen to songs, do some tasks based on its plot and text, analyze and discuss our impressions as well as do some writing exercises. All necessary materials will be provided by the teacher.

At the end of the course, the participants will be able to use different oral and written expressions and grammar constructions that they can use in their everyday communication. Students will improve their Russian skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. The students will know more about well-known Russian movies, cartoons, songs, film directors, actors, composers and singers as a part of the country study. Students will be able to describe and analyze the plot of the movie / the text of the song, its characters, express their attitudes towards them and discuss their thoughts with others.

Course leader

Dimitri Mironov, PhD. Dimitri is a founder of TSS Russian course and a certified teacher of Russian as a foreign language. He has been teaching Russian in different countries for more than 20 years.

Target group

Anyone interested in the Russian language. At least an A2/B1 level of Russian is needed.

Course aim

To improve Russian language skills through interactive activities based on famous Russian and Soviet movies, cartoons, and songs, enhancing listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities while gaining insights into Russian culture and arts.
