The SoRAIM multi-disciplinary Winter School will provide an overview of the scientific, technological, and ethical questions in Social Robotics. Several top-level speakers will introduce and discuss the relevant areas for building socially aware robots that communicate and interact with humans, including:
路 Speech source localization and separation
路 Mapping and visual self-localization
路 Social-aware robot navigation
路 Tracking and analysis of human behavior
路 Dialog management, natural language understanding, and generation
路 Robotic middle-ware and software integration
路 Ethics and experimental design
See the full program on our website.
SoRAIM aims to foster discussion between experts in these fields and to expose students (from Master level), young researchers and engineers to highly qualified scientists and experts. It will provide an opportunity to interact and discuss with researchers in the field, present your research in the form of a poster, and participate in wider topic discussions with your peers.
You may find the registration link on our website.
Registrations will be treated on a first come first served basis combined with merit assessment based on your CV and 鈥搃f applicable (Master, PhD students)鈥攔ecommendation from your supervisor.
SoRAIM is organized by the Horizon 2020 SPRING project (spring-h2020.eu), funded by the European Commission. SPRING seeks to develop Socially Assistive Robots with the capacity to perform multi-person interactions and open-domain dialogue in a gerontological healthcare institution. Starting in 2020, it has produced ground-breaking research to allow robots to move, see, hear, and communicate with several actors in complex and unstructured populated spaces.
