Strings Academy

About

The Strings Academy combines in a simultaneously demanding and participative concept individual playing and collective practice in a novel way. All Participants form a string orchestra (8, 7, 6, 5, 3) that intentionally has no conductor. Besides daily chamber-orchestra rehearsals supplemented with rehearsals in smaller chamber-music ensembles, participants are taught individually by the professors.

o up to three hours of chamber orchestra rehearsal each day under the artistic direction of Prof. David Grimal and Prof. Hans-Peter Hofmann (only for active participants)
o daily individual and class instruction by the professors (only for active participants)
o daily section rehearsals (only for active participants)

o young, ambitious and talented string players who are active internationally
o professional chamber musicians and instrumentalists who are looking for new challenges with respect to ensemble playing

Course aim

The Strings Academy will conclude with a concert by all the participants to be recorded by Saarland Broadcasting Corporation – SR
