About

Since its founding in 2021, the European Leadership Academy has received over 12,000 applications from across Europe, making it a premier opportunity for women aiming to shape the future. The
program covers leadership, AI ethics, public speaking, emerging technologies, sustainability, entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, global collaboration and EU project management, among other topics.

Over the past four years, ELA has transformed the lives of more than 170 women, empowering them to reach their full potential. Today, alumnae are shaping the tech industry, diplomacy and academia. For
example, 2023 alumna Hanah Lahe is Estonia’s youngest Member of the Parliament. Dalia Alic (2021) went on to become the youngest recipient of Croatia’s Women of Influence Award, and now works at the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Preslava Kuzova (2022) is now a software engineer at a major tech company.

Participating in ELA programmes represents a once-in-a-lifetime experience. 2021 Austrian representative Lisa Oberaigner said: “The Summer School introduced me to leaders from different backgrounds, which gave me new perspectives and ideas to develop my leadership skills and guide my career.” 2022 Swedish alumna Elova Ryegård shared: “Huawei’s initiative is amazing. I believe all
major tech companies should do this to inspire young women to enter tech.” 2024 Belgian alumna Victoria Vandenberghe reflected: “It was an unforgettable experience. The passion and expertise of the speakers inspired me to aim for excellence in my career and make a meaningful impact in the world.”

The European Leadership Academy is proud to open its programmes to qualified candidates of the age 18 and above who are citizens of the 27 EU Member States, Ukraine, the Western Balkans Six (North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo), Moldova, Switzerland, Iceland, Türkiye or Norway

Course aim

The European Leadership Academy's Schools for Female Leadership in the Digital Age represent the company’s continued commitment to digital inclusion. We want to close the gender gap and create a world where women are empowered to lead us into the digital future.

Throughout the course of the programme, students are immersed in the digital world, learning from a wide variety of experts across many different fields. With their guidance, they gain a better understanding of the EU’s current digital landscape, and discuss potential ways forward. They learn about career opportunities available in areas including AI, cybersecurity, and data privacy. They are also taught leadership skills that help them thrive in these professions, and empower them to take their rightful place in the tech revolution.

A talented group of experts both coach and counsel our students during the five-day programme and teach them everything from coding to presentation skills and leadership styles
