Summer School on Sustainability and Digital Transformation in Civil and Environmental Engineering (5 ECTS)

Content:
This programme is designed to enable students to understand the role of digital transformation and sustainability in modern engineering practice, combining computational modelling, physics-based simulation and AI with sustainability assessment and life-cycle thinking. Students will develop problem-solving skills using modern numerical and assessment methods, and learn to apply these tools to real-world engineering case studies and future projects.

Teaching Methods:
24 h of Lectures consist of on-campus teaching (coming to Oulu is mandatory part of the course) and one online session before the on-campus part. They also implement collaborative teaching, inviting industry experts to illustrate case studies. 36 h of project work consisting of individual and team activities plus 75 h of self-study are also required in order to complete the course.
