The REBUILDD Summer School (31 August โ 04 September 2026) offers an intensive programme dedicated to the Circular Economy as an opportunity to rethink how we design and transform the built environment. Open to participants from diverse disciplinary backgrounds, it adopts a fully transdisciplinary approach structured around four pillars: understanding the circular potential of materials, designing and applying circularity strategies, experimenting with advanced digital tools for the Circular Economy, and innovatively measuring/communicating circular processes and results.
The week combines interdisciplinary lectures, handsโon workshops, laboratories, thematic visits, and structured discussion sessions, fostering critical and collaborative learning. The experience culminates in the development of design and narrative guidelines: a concrete and applicable output that translates the entire programme into a clear, communicable vision, useful for future projects or for enriching oneโs portfolio.

The Summer School aims to provide participants with the foundations and tools to develop critical, technical, design, collaborative, and communication skills through an interdisciplinary approach to circularity in the built environment and anthropogenic artefacts, across different scales and applications. Through lectures, case studies, visits, and applied activities, participants will be introduced to principles and methods related to circular design, sustainable use of materials and resources, digitalization, technical innovation, and impact assessment and communication.
The programme is intended to strengthen transversal competences in sustainability and circular innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, digital tools for circular design and management, technical and performance analysis, and the integration of theory, experimentation, and practical application. Participants may also gain greater awareness of the SUPSI DACD Departmentโs expertise, research activities, and educational opportunities related to the circular economy at the local and international level.
