This course explores how the philosophical construct of deliberation can be analysed empirically. This concerns conceptual questions, research design and measurement issues as well as the antecedents and outcomes of deliberation. The course will not only provide students with the latest theorising in deliberation, it will also familiarize them with the various methodological techniques to study deliberation empirically.
