“The Country of Belcanto” is a short course with focus on Linguistics, History and Culture. Topics and activities cover the following areas:
Italian Literature, History of Language, Stylistics and Metrics
History of Music, Voices of Melodrama and Opera Librettos
Guided listening activities and contextualization of famous Arias
The academic standard of the Program is provided by University Professors who have authored the teaching materials and the lessons by video-conference.

Target group

The Summer School is addressed to genuine fans of Opera and Italian Language who wish to take an immersive and complete journey in the language of melodrama. University enrolment or specific qualifications are not required.
