This course explores the Bible as a dynamic and evolving text across history. From its interpretation in Antiquity among Jewish and Christian communities to its reception in the Latin world, it traces how meanings were shaped over time. It also examines modern challenges brought by scientific discourse in the 19th and 20th centuries, alongside literary and imaginative readings, including the Psalms and the provocative use of biblical themes in Rabelais. Together, these perspectives highlight the Bible’s enduring influence and interpretive richness.
