Type Design

About

Throughout a week of intense work, students will develop practical knowledge of typographic design with the support of a team of tutors and guests with international impact. During this period, students will be able to design a font with the influence of the wonderful city of Porto and the annual theme of MAD Summer School (In search of unseen typography, 2018). Starting from the use of historical knowledge and space applied to a contemporary or particular expression, at the end of the course, students will have grasped basic theoretical contents and articulating them with a strong exploration of the practical and mostly digital component, bringing mastery over the contemporary lettering and conception of typography.
