Urban Climate. Adaption, Development and Sustainable Transformation.

If so, then join Forster Summer School at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz!
This summer, scientists from JGU, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and Bingen Technical University of Applied Sciences will give you a scientific background on the discourses and controversies regarding urban climate, the impacts on vegetation, the question of changing human-air relations as well as transformation processes such as green and smart city designs. Explore urban climate projects of the region and look forward to hands-on experiences.

The academic program is suitable for Bachelor, Master or PhD students from a variety of backgrounds, e.g. Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biotechnology, Geography, Geosciences, or related disciplines dealing with interdisciplinary international approaches.

Course aim

Each year, scientists from natural and social science fields take a closer look at a specific topic from the field of global change. You will have the unique chance to discuss possible future perspectives of urban climate with experts, international peers and students from Germany in an interdisciplinary setting. You will gain hands-on experience during field excursions, discover Mainz and its surroundings during cultural visits, improve your language skills and get to know students from all over the world.
