Our summer school consists of two parts: online programme and physical mobility. This blended form enables to cover a comprehensive range of topics and theoretical preparation before you go to the lab and apply new knowledge and techniques in practice.
Within the online part, you will learn the basics of water science, focusing on the complexity of water issues: from hydrochemistry to environmental sampling, hydrobiology to ecotoxicology.
During the second week, you will join us in Brno. Not only that we will take you to our laboratories, but also outside to sample water in Brno Reservoir or explore the wastewater treatment plant in Modřice. You will eventually use what you learn in the project that will be the final output of your participation in summer school.
Martina Repkova focuses on the topics which deal with water quality assessment based on the determination of physical-chemical and biological indicators (microbiology of wastewater), on various technological processes used in wastewater treatment.
Bachelor, master, PhD students in various natural sciences fields.
The summer school will encompass following topics such as: potential water resources, water protection, sustainability, reuse, new trends in treatment and purification of water, micropollutans in water, organisms as water quality indicators, drinking water, wastewater, etc. Students will practice environmental sampling of water, solve team projects on a selected topic, and work in an environmental laboratory.
