The summer school on Women, Peace and Security from 4 to 15 June 2012 in The Hague, and is a joint initiative of Oxfam Novib, Grotius Centre for Internatioanl Legal Studies, Women's Initiatives for Gender Justice and Clingendael.rnrnThe summer school will include 5 modules:rn1. Introduction to concepts about conflict, conflict transformation, prevention and peacebuilding.rn2. Knowledge about the international Human Rights framework, monitoring and justice mechanisms.rn3. Share, analyse and discuss obstacles, successes and challenges based on cases in the field, mainly based on the experience of the participants.rn4.Training module for tools and skills for communication and negotiation and advocacy.rn5. Discussion with exernal stakeholders to understand different roles and facilitate networking.

Target group

The summer school on Women, Peace and Security is targeted to women and men who seek inclusion of women and active participation in conflict affected situations, peace building prcesses and justice.

Course aim

The main objective is strenghtening individual women and men and their organisations for more inclusive and effective peacebuilding initiatives and to facilitate networking amongst advocates.
