‘Yes, and…‘ Co- Creativity and Applied Improvisation

We will playfully find out about the rules of improvisation, most importantly the first rule of saying ‚yes, and…‘. To spontaniously overcome the inner urge of judging what we perceive, and focus on how to co- create and explore situational places.

In this workshop we use improvisational games, études and scenes to playfully co-create spaces in which the unknown that lies immediately before us can be discovered and explored together. I understand the term ‚utopia‘ as a literal 'non-place' or situational place that cannot yet exist because it has not yet been created by us, or that has not yet been transported from the field of the unconsciousness to the field of consciousness. A place manifests itself in the form of a situation that we create and then resolve together associatively and scenically. We will take closer looks and find out about how to use the rules of improvisation: Add new information. Don't block. Avoid asking questions- unless you're also adding information. Play in the present and use the moment. Establish the location. Be specific and provide colorful details. Change, Change, Change! And, most importantly: Say ‚Yes, and…‘.
