About

Would you like to hone your writing skills and discover creative ways of writing? Or have you perhaps always dreamed of becoming a writer? This course provides you with the tools and knowledge to put your creative ideas on paper, whether in fictional or non-fictional forms. We will specifically focus on two very popular short genres: the short story and the personal essay.
The course combines 1) hands-on creative writing workshop with 2) in-class discussions of short stories and essays by world-renowned authors and academic literature on aspects of creative writing such as genre, plot, beginning and endings, character, setting, point of view, narration, texture and pace, argumentation, and style.
The classes are taught by academic experts in literature and creative writing, who are also accomplished short story and essay writers themselves

Target group

Enrolled as an undergraduate student or holder of an undergraduate diploma, including those pursuing advanced studies or professional careers.

Good Command of English (at least C1 level)
Completion of pre-university education (preparatory scientific education).
The course is open to everyone who is interested in writing and literature regardless of their disciplinary background

• Developed a deeper understanding of your creative writing process
• Written a short story and an essay
• Received peer and expert feedback on your short story and essay
• Developed a deeper understanding of how short stories and personal essays work
