The International Summer University at Kassel is a unique short term education program specially dedicated to international students. Every year about 50 participants take seminar classes in one of three specially created modules, focusing on the main issues of the current globalization trends:

Engineering – Environment and Innovation
Culture – International communication and German culture
Nano science – Molecules and technology

THE CULTURE MODULE:
This module features interactive German and cultural studies with a local and European background. It consists of three seminars – the German fairytale, looking glass of society / German history and politics of the 20th century / intercultural communication. Participants of the ISU program may choose two of their preferred seminars within the module.

In addition, students can take part in a German language course. The classes are designed to teach and practice German skills in everyday situations in the most effective way to improve the participant's German.

The university program is combined with several leisure time activities, such as workshops, excursions to Frankfurt and Marburg. Students will be accommodated at a host family for the time of their stay. Due to this structure the program guarantees a broad and realistic impression of German culture in modern society.

Target group

The International Summer University addresses to students from the entire world, who want to gain international experiences in Germany and enhance their professional expertise in their field of study.

The program includes high quality lectures and seminars, a German language course and many spare time activities to familiarize its participants with the local culture and other international students as well.

Course aim

The course aim is to combine scientific expertise with precious cultural experiences in a foreign country. Students will gain new knowledge about important future topics and have new insights of daily life in Germany.

Credits info

10 EC
Depending on the number of chosen classes the amount of earned credits may differ. Students will receive three credit points for each seminar and for the language course, summing up to a maximum of nine possible credit points.

Fee info

EUR 2190: The tuition fee for the ISU Kassel is EUR 2,190.
Payment received on or before 1 April 2017 enjoy an early-bird discount of EUR 200.
