ETH Summer School: “New Frontiers in Extracellular Matrix Research: From regeneration to immunology, mechanics and soft robotics”

when 9 September 2018 - 13 September 2018
language English
duration 1 week
credits 2 EC
fee CHF 270

This ECMatrix summer school aims to bring together key opinion leaders with a focus on giving in-depth insights into current innovations and translational directions of the extracellular matrix research.

We have selected four main established and emerging areas of investigation that we believe will shape the future of ECM biology field (namely mechano-, immuno-, regenerative, and responsive-matrix). The scientific program is geared towards an interdisciplinary audience from life sciences, chemistry, engineering and clinical medicine.

Additionally, workshops on professional skills (e.g. scientific publishing) and industrial networking are planned. Participants will have the chance to present their research during a 3-minute flash talk and/or a poster session. Several social activities in are organized to facilitate communication and networking between the participants!

Target group

The New Frontiers in Extracellular Matrix Research Summer School is open to 40 PhD and Master students with diverse backgrounds including, but not limited to, life sciences, chemistry, engineering and clinical medicine. It welcomes applications from students at ETH Domains and any institution around the world.

The school is dedicated primarily to the PhD students and advanced Masters students. However, junior PostDocs are encouraged to apply and will be considered if there is still room available.
