Day 1: Building the plant model. Scaling. Analyzing open and closed loops.
Day 2: Revision of basic control methods and practice with applications.
Day 3: Optimal control methods.
Day 4: Robustness, uncertainty modelling, stability, performance, min-max.
Day 5: Project hackathon.

Course leader

Main teacher is Adjunct Professor Rafal P. Jastrzebski, LUT School of Energy Systems. Second teacher is Professor Leonid Chechurin, LUT School of Engineering Science. Also there is an assistant, PhD student, in the practical part of the course.

Course aim

Aims: Students will gain theoretical background in basic robust control. After completing the course, they will be able to:
- Form MIMO plant models of selected applications,
- Select control structure within H-inf framework,
- Design cascade control structures,
- Design robust controller and select control weights,
- Study robust stability and performance of the closed loop system.
