Exhibiting Architecture - Media, Methods, Agents
The AA Visiting School Zurich invites students and practitioners, from the fields of architecture, design, art, curating, and theory to re-imagine architecture exhibitions, its media, methods, and agents. It draws on the rich academic and cultural landscape of Zurich, fostering exchange with agents from institutions such as the ETH or Kunsthalle Zurich, and also includes a wide range of international guests and speakers.
Lennart Wolff and Klaus Platzgummer
The workshop is open to current students in the fields of architecture, design, curating, art history and related subjects in the humanities, phd candidates and young professionals.
The workshop “Exhibiting Architecture” unpacks various media, ranging from models,
drawings, photography to oral histories, performances, and installations moving beyond an object-focused discourse. Each day of the workshop is devoted to a specific mediality and the different curatorial methods deployed. This is explored in depth by the participants in reading sessions and group discussions. Invited agents – curators, theorists, artists, and architects – give lectures, engage the participants in conversations and guide them through exhibitions.
GBP 695: The AA Visiting School Zurich requires a course fee of £635 per participant, plus a £60 Visiting membership fee.
Fees do not include flights or accommodation, but accommodation options can be advised. Students need to bring their own laptops. Please ensure this equipment is covered by your own insurance as the AA takes no responsibility for items lost or stolen at the workshop.
