The FEB-UNIDU Summer Business Academy is intended for students and is organized as an extracurricular activity. The program consists of workshops organized in three areas - Data analytics, Emerging innovations, and Sustainability challenges - over five working days (July 1-9). Through these areas, participants will get insight into contemporary topics in the field of technological innovation in business and economics, they will address the challenges posed by the concept of sustainable development, and will obtain further education on the possibilities of applying data analysis in various fields of economics. Participants will be able to combine workshops from different fields and obtain a Certificate of Attendance and a Certificate of Completion and Assessment. To achieve this, each participant will have to apply for three workshops. The workshops will be held by teachers from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, University of Dubrovnik, and foreign experts in the field of data analysis with application in business economics and economics, technological innovation in economics, and sustainability as a social challenge.

Target group

The FEB-UNIDU Summer Business Academy program is designed as a lifelong learning program and therefore appropriate for undergraduate, graduated and postgraduate students, researchers, and professionals working in the field.

Course aim

After successfully completing the FEB-UNIDU Summer Business Academy program, students will develop advanced knowledge in the field of data analysis that will enable them to apply different methods of analysis of collected and generated data, using existing or developing new models. Students will understand the importance of digital technologies in a variety of industries and business environments as well as the challenges these trends pose. Applying this knowledge will enable them to develop a digital transformation plan and business models. Students will develop expertise in the field of sustainable development; they will be able to synthesize and apply them in the context of business, corporate governance, and trade. By discussing selected topics and applying the acquired knowledge in the field of data management, innovation, and sustainable development, students will develop speaking skills, as well as further professional use of a foreign language. Teamwork in workshops will enable participants to demonstrate creative thinking and develop communication and leadership skills, with an emphasis on ethical thinking and acting, and teamwork in the online environment of virtual teams. Students will also generate quality research and analysis through activities during workshops and final work.
