LANDSCAPE OF[F] LIMITS International Summer School

when 30 August 2022 - 10 September 2022
language English
duration 2 weeks
credits 8 EC
fee EUR 300

After focusing on the Po riverfront and on the buffer zones among river and city within the 2020-2021 editions, LOL2022 focuses on the western part of the urban system, along the historical direction of Via Emilia. It’s a complex urban and landscape environment where logistic assets (a very large urban sector of about 2K hectares) are strongly intertwined with productive and commercial areas and with mobility infrastructures. This framework is strongly impacted by the natural corridor of Po River (in the northern edge) and the close agricultural and open areas and is characterized by complex social geographies with different communities that are “occupying” the sectors with diverse intensities.
The workshop is called to design global and local architectural and landscape strategies oriented to build a new identity for the area in order to stress a process toward “reconnecting with nature”.
