Development and performance of complex choral music under professional conditions in an academy choir together with professional singers from radio choirs or the professional choral scene in every vocal group. The latter will coach the scholarship holders during the entire duration of the Choral Academy, providing targeted vocal training that is entirely tailored to the individual needs and requirements of professional vocal ensemble work and its literature.

o up to four hours of rehearsals each day under the direction of Prof. Georg Grün, during which active coaching of the professional singers will take place
o 30 minutes of individual instruction each day with the professional choir singers in the form of intensive voice training, along with help with independent rehearsal, learning sheet music and artistic realization (only for active participants)
o large concluding concert to be recorded by Saarland Broadcasting Corporation – SR

The Choral Academy will work closely with the Conductors' Academy headed by Prof. Georg Grün.

Target group

The Choral Academy is aimed primarily at singers aged between 16 and 26 years who
o wish to experience choral work on a high level that exceeds that required by amateur choirs and which approaches the semi-professional level
o are interested in enrolling for a university degree in singing
o who hope to gain new impetus from completing professional choral work at the HfM University of Music Saar

Course aim

The Choir Academy will conclude with a concert by all the participants to be recorded by Saarland Broadcasting Corporation – SR (only for active participants).

Fee info

EUR 75: Enrolment fee: € 75 (includes the cost of a daily hot lunch as well as coffee, tea and bottled water for the entire duration of the Academy)
EUR 0: The course fee of 600 euros is financed for the selected active participants through a grant from the Peter and Luise Hager Foundation and the ME Saar Foundation. The course fee is waived for passive participants.
