Circular economy is one of the hot topics that companies have to consider more and more. This area offers many opportunities for new business and the transition of existing business. However, transforming a business into a circular one faces many challenges. Digital technologies offer some avenues, especially to make business processes for value recovery more transparent and efficient.
This course focuses on practical aspects of company´s management and provides real life insights on the knowledge gained within the DiCiM project financed by the European Union (https://www.dicimproject.eu/) aimed on digitaly transforming business models into more intensive circularity. Representatives from four leading global companies in manufacturing and services, each serving as key demonstrators (Arcelik, C-ECO, Gorenje and Lexmark) will provide insights into why they have decided to test it and how digital technologies could help the companies to overcome the challenges of the circular economy transition.
You will develop a circular business model using the transformational capabilities of digital technology. You will work on your own model, with demonstrator 'cases' to provide inspiration, or you will have the opportunity to work on a business model for a specific case.
This programme is designed as a part of our Intensive 2 Week Summer School, where multiple courses from a wide variety of Masaryk University study programmes and departments will be offered. These courses will be arranged in an intensive and dynamic form, each working day there will be an academic session. In the afternoon and evenings students come together from across disciplines to enjoy everything Brno has to offer!
