The university has steadily grown to become a leading institution in Central Europe, offering a diverse range of programs and contributing significantly to research and education.

Founded shortly after the establishment of Czechoslovakia, Masaryk University has a storied history deeply rooted in the country’s pursuit of academic advancement. Over the years, it has expanded its academic offerings and research endeavours while maintaining a strong commitment to fostering critical thinking and scholarly exploration.

Nearly 7,000 students from dozens of countries study at MU, and over 300 international teachers and researchers work here.

MU focuses on many disciplines of human knowledge, supports research, and regularly invests in growth. Its buildings and grounds, canteens and libraries in the city centre have been renovated and feature modern equipment. The latest technology is used for online teaching.
