About

The two weeks course aims at helping you to settle down in Potsdam and at the university and, needless to say, at developing your German language skills. During the course we together take care of all the important affairs for a good start in Potsdam. Among those we will help with the local authorities, and dealing with all the other issues that are important in and around Germany and especially Potsdam. You obtain 3 ECTS for your transcript of records. Primarily, the course is about the consolidation of you German skills through practical language and cultural seminars. You will work in groups according to your level of German and the lessons will be held by experienced teachers of German as a Foreign/ Second Language. In the evenings, there will be plenty of time to get to know each other and to discover Potsdam’s and Berlin’s cultural diversity off your own bat.

Target group

This Intensive Language Preparation Course is mainly for Incoming ERASMUS students and students who would like to learn more about Germany, the University of Potsdam and the German language. We recommend a minimum German Level of A2. If you are no ERASMUS student but want to take part too, just contact us directly by email.

Course aim

The course is meant to give you a helping hand during your first weeks in Potsdam. Consequently, the focus is not put on grammar lessons only, but to a greater degree on lessons relevant to everyday student life. For this reason, we advise everyone without basic German skills to rather participate in a language course by the Zessko (Centre for Languages and Key Competencies) of the University of Potsdam.
