Introduction to Bioinformatics

About

Course will cover the basics of bioinformatics in the context of high throughput data analysis. Hands on exercises will cover the usage of tools needed to transform next generation sequencing data into meaningful results.

Course aim

After the course, the student can:

-Evaluate standard features of high-throughput sequencing data quality
-Align a high-throughput sequencing dataset in basic cases
-Use standard file formats for storing sequencing data and alignments
-Apply standard tools to produce tables of statistically significant findings from selected high-throughput data types
-Interpret tables of outputs using enrichment analysis
-Write a report summarizing the results of data analysis
