About

Net Zero Carbon: Architecture & Landscape for Climate Emergency Summer School will deliver a new and dynamic programme including an exciting range of lectures delivered by key academics, researchers and practitioners. Talks will be complimented by site visits, feeding directly into students’ own comprehensive design projects.

Target group

Current students studying architecture, architectural technology, architecture and environmental design, or relevant courses in the built environment

Course aim

On completion of this course students will be able to:
• Understand the different energy flow mechanisms that take place within buildings and how they affect a building’s design and operation.
• Critically reflect on the range of net zero carbon design strategies and consideration of the influences of climate, form, orientation and building materials.
• Articulate design and research proposals that indicate effective environmental design strategies enabling the achievement of net zero carbon buildings.
• Develop, refine and test your design and research at all stages to demonstrate experimentation that’s informed by critical feedback and discussion.
• Prepare a project presentation that is edited and organised so that it can be evaluated in terms of range, depth, creativity and originality as well as standards of accuracy and skills of execution

1500 GBP, The total fee for the Net Zero Carbon Architecture and Landscape for Climate Emergency Summer School is 1,500GBP per delegate.
