Neurodiversity from Brain to Behaviour

About

Neurodiversity - an umbrella term that includes ADHD and Autism - is complex and not well understood, this summer school will be an opportunity to unpack the complexity of
neurodiversity, helping you to gain an understanding that will make sense.

On this course we will deep dive into neurodiversity and how differences in brain structure and function lead to differences in behaviour, and ultimately, impairments in everyday life.

During this course you will explore:
1. the structure and prevalence of disorders under the neurodiversity umbrella
2. the neuroscience of neurodiversity
3. neurodiversity across the lifespan
4. the structural and functional findings in neurodiversity
5. common co-morbidities with neurodiversity

This course will focus on the following key impairments associated with neurodiversity:
1. impact on mental health
2. educational attainment
3. employability
4. sleep
5. driving behaviour
6. inter-personal relationships
7. psychological interventions that can better support neurodiverse individuals
8. lived experience of neurodiversity.
