Painting On Glass with Lucia Santini

In this practice-based class, Lucia will teach traditional techniques for mixing glass powder with a medium and how to apply it with a brush on glass. Participants will gain a detailed insight into one of Italy´s most extraordinary crafts. The class will also present classical Italian motifs, as well as allowing participants to realise their own creative ideas.

Course leader

Lucia Santini was born in Murano in 1960. She started to work with glass when she was 15 painting the micro bottles her father made, as he was a glass maker in a factory, a hot shop, and a torch worker. Lucia would then resell the painted bottles in shops
