Pre- University Science, Technology & Engineering

About

This course is ideal for students who are keen to take a hands-on approach to learning how physicists, engineers and others work together to tackle global challenges. Its curriculum looks at the subject from both a technological and ethical viewpoint and aims to enable participants to learn the power of computational thinking as a tool for problem-solving in almost any discipline.

Lessons will consider the global problem of how to improve water quality as a springboard to explore experimental Physics, hardware design and coding, as well as enable class discussions centred on Ethics in Science.

Led by academics from King’s Natural and Mathematical Sciences faculty, students will study fundamentals of Physics and Engineering and build their theoretical and experimental understanding of each discipline in the modern world. A combination of lectures, seminars, discussion groups and practical lab work will provide an immersive and inspiring experience, with team-based problem-solving activities to help students prepare for future studies in these fields.
