About

Objectives of the course

To provide an introduction to epidemiological and population-based research methods for mental health and psychiatric disorders

To provide an overview on public mental health concepts and principles in the context of global mental health

To enable participants to formulate, critically appraise and contribute to public mental health policy, plans and programs and systems; with a focus on planning, development and
monitoring.

To describe the key themes in national and local policies aimed at addressing mental health needs

To introduce evaluation in the context of mental health policies and programmes, and economic evaluation in particular

To describe how economic evaluations is conducted in mental health contexts, with illustrations from across a range of areas

To enable participants on the course to understand the core principles, strengths and weaknesses of economic evaluations in mental health contexts.
