Do you want to speak like a native Spaniard? Are you ready to immerse yourself in the most interesting aspects of Spanish culture? If your answer is yes, then this course is perfect for you!

Our course is the best to help you develop your linguistic Spanish skills or to become a real native speaker, as conversation and Spanish culture are perfectly combined for you not only to learn the language but also to experience our culture. Each lesson will introduce essential socio-cultural content in order to help you make progress, especially in the speaking competencies established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Some of the topics that will be addressed for you to get to know the local culture are: Spanish gastronomy (with special attention to Almería), history of cinema in our city, local parties and celebrations, and much more! Besides the academic content, our Study Abroad courses include an attractive cultural program full of cultural activities and trips, especially for you, so you can make the most of your stay in our city and university!

Target group

No prerequisites needed, except for a diagnostic test. At the beginning of the course there will be a diagnostic test for each module in order to establish both the student and group profile. By using this placement or level test, and/or the evaluation with the teachers, the groups will be divided into levels.

Course aim

1. Advancing in the development of communicative competence.
2. Cultivating interest in the culture, traditions, and way of life of Spanishspeaking communities.
3. Acquiring the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in an integrated manner.
4. Understanding and appreciating the multicultural nature of the Spanish language.
5. Effectively using oral and written language at the appropriate CEFR level.
6. Using the oral and written language oral adequately at the corresponding level according to CEFR
7. Actively participating in interactive activities such as dialogues, interviews, opinion sharing, and discussions to
enhance oral production.
8. Developing writing skills through various exercises, both individual and collaborative, conducted inside and outside the classroom.
9. Introducing students to defining characteristics of Spanish identity including daily life, historical events, notable figures, and works of art.
