Experience an authentic Czech summer, while expanding your knowledge! This balanced academic journey offers theoretical knowledge to meet practical experience amidst the picturesque Czech nature. Courses integrate scientific sports insights with outdoor activities, offer comprehensive understanding of human performance and health enhancement and requires participant to get outside the classroom through active outdoor recreation through creating your own personalized nutrition plan, receiving advice on the proper exercise techniques and going through performance testing.

This programme is designed as a part of our Intensive 2 Week Summer School, where multiple courses from a wide variety of Masaryk University study programmes and departments will be offered. These courses will be arranged in an intensive and dynamic form, each working day there will be an academic session. In the afternoon and evenings students come together from across disciplines to enjoy everything Brno has to offer!

Target group

Students studying kinesiology, sports sciences, physical education, sports management, and other related fields are well suited for this program – however anyone passionate about sports and exercise are invited to apply.

Course aim

In the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Apply principles of group dynamics to improve team cohesion and performance.
- Develop effective communication and leadership skills within team-building contexts.
- Identify the roles of macronutrients and hydration in athletic performance.
- Calculate energy intake and expenditure, and design nutrition plans tailored to various sports.
- Conduct physiological assessments in a sports laboratory and interpret the results to inform training programs.
- Plan safe and effective outdoor activities, including hiking, with an emphasis on outdoor survival and environmental responsibility.

Understand the principles of strength training program design and safely execute strength exercises for various fitness levels.
