Methods of Microscopy in Archaeology
This course relies on the expertise of renowned instructors and an immense collection to educate students on the practical use of reflected-light, translucent-light and opto-digital microscopes in Archaeology.

Target group
There are no academic pre-requirements however the course is particularly suited for students of microscopy, archaeological finds and samples, origin, function
Course aim
Throughout the two weeks, students will be presented with a range of microscopic methods used in archaeology to collect analytical measurable data from the archaeological finds. Classes alternate between theory and practice, providing participating students with the skillset to continue their studies. The vast collection from the Archaeology and Museology Department at Masaryk University will allow students to practice with different types of materials such as bone, metal, rocks, and ceramics.
