About

Energy transition, skyrocketing prices of energy, and reliance on imports from authoritarian and openly hostile regimes - to name a few topics covered by this course. With over 10 years of experiences running this course, the curriculum is designed to require no specific previous knowledge, and all information is presented in non-technical language.

Course aim

This summer school aims to examine both recent and long-term developments, plans, and policies of the EU influenced by the development of the global energy environment. Understand the reasons, tools and effects and gain deep insight into these challenges and, using interactive tools and in-class discussions, cultivates the students’ ability to interpret them within the complex patchwork of European climate and energy policy.

Don't miss the opportunity to discuss energy issues with Vaclav Bartuska, the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affair's Special Envoy for Energy Security, and a session on supply security and geopolitics led by James Henderson, Director of Natural Gas Programme of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies.

1100 EUR, The full cost of this programme is €1100. The cost breakdowns as follows: €400: - tuition fees €700: - Accommodation in Brno (9-22 July) - Opening and Closing receptions - Culture activities around Brno - Day trip to Prague or Vienna - 24/7 support - Social programme A €100 discount is available for students from partner universities Students should budget an additional €200-500 depending on their spending habits for food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and fun "optional" activities in Brno.
